Ramallah – November 1, 2011 As a concluding step in the community development planning project in Sawahreh Asharqiah and Qetanna, IDMC organized the second community-wide workshop for stakeholders that combined project committees and a representative of the MDLF. The workshop meeting aimed at presenting the strategic community development plan in both communities for the years 2012-2015 and the projects that came as a result of the planning process. City Engineer Wisam Ma’ali presented the methodology for development planning and explained the rationale for identifying and choosing the development projects. Attends representing various stakeholder organizations presented questions and make further suggestions. The Mayor, Mr. Mohammad Sorour, explained in details the work of the various committees and thanked them for the work they did. Committees represented community stakeholders: Basic planning committee, project committee, stakeholders committee, and specialized committees.

IDMC consultants explained the community vision and how it was reached at and agreed among community representatives and it how it reflected the main path for community development.
